That background matters more than it might sound. Aged care is one of the more heavily scrutinised training areas in the country, where the consequences of a weak assessment tool aren't administrative — they show up in someone's care. Working in that environment builds a particular instinct for the difference between documentation that looks compliant and evidence that genuinely demonstrates competence.

How much of your documentation was written to satisfy an auditor, and how much to help a trainer teach?
The two aren't in conflict, but plenty of RTOs end up with paperwork that serves neither. That's usually the sign of tools built under time pressure by people already stretched — which is nearly everyone in this sector.
Compliance gaps are almost always a capacity problem, not a competence problem. We report what we find plainly and don't dress it up — but the point is to fix it, not to make anyone feel exposed.
